CCIW Wrestlers to compete at NCAA Division III Championships

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Seven wrestlers from two College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) schools will compete at the 2007 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships March 2-3 at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.

Elmhurst will have three wrestlers taking part in the tournament, while North Central will be represented by four wrestlers.

For conference champion Elmhurst, Jake Oster at 125 pounds (25-9), Kenny Thomas at 141 pounds (26-6) and Jeff Kastel at 149 pounds (29-9) will take part in the championships. Thomas was the conference champion at 141 pounds, while Kastel won the title at 149 pounds during the CCIW Wrestling Championships on Feb. 10. Oster was runner-up at the conference championship at 125 pounds.

Second place finisher North Central will be represented by Adam Johnson at 133 pounds (30-5), Bobby Gingerich at 157 pounds (27-6), Ben Youel at 165 pounds (29-12) and Gabe Youel at 184 pounds (32-7). Johnson was the conference champion at 133 pounds, while Gingerich earned the title at 157 pounds. Ben and Gabe Youel were conference champions at 165 and 184 pounds respectively.
