CCIW teams continue to be represented in ustfccca national rankings

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Seven College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) teams, four on the women's side and three on the men's side, were ranked in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Coaches Power Rankings, released Tuesday by the USTFCCCA.

The women's rankings had four CCIW teams in the top 25 as conference champion Illinois Wesleyan was seventh (210.55 points), followed by Augustana at No. 9 (204.09 points) and Carthage at No. 14 (192.82). North Central was the highest ranked team at No. 6 (211.15).

On the men's side, North Central was second with 229.94 points after winning the CCIW Indoor title last Saturday. Augustana was ninth in the rankings with 221.95 points while Carthage was 24th (205.55 points).

The 2008 NCAA Men's and Women's Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held March 14-15, at the Ohio Northern University Sports Center.
