North Central Sweeps CCIW Indoor Track & Field Championships
KENOSHA, Wis. – The 2006 version of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Indoor Track & Field Championships was all Cardinals as the North Central Cardinals captured team titles on both the men’s and women’s side Saturday in Kenosha, Wis.
For the men, it was their sixth straight indoor team title. The Cardinals, on the strength of six individual titles, scored 195 points on the day, topping second place Augustana who scored 118 points. North Central won titles in the mile, 800, 5,000, 4x400, 4x800, pole vault and triple jump. Illinois Wesleyan was third with 92 points, while Carthage was fourth with 91 points. Wheaton (63), Millikin (60), Elmhurst (35) and North Park (5) rounded out the team scoring on the men’s side.
The North Central women captured the school’s first ever indoor title with 145.50 points, while Illinois Wesleyan was second with 130.83 points. North Central took home individual titles in the mile, 4x800, DMR and pole vault. Carthage (128.33), Augustana (117.83), Wheaton (63.50), Millikin (28), Elmhurst (21) and North Park (21) rounded out the team scoring.
