CCIW SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – Tyler Leehaug and Meredith Fridline, both of Carthage, have been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin "Swimmers of the Week" for the week of January 24. The CCIW selects a "Swimmer of the Week" by a vote of the league coaches each week during the season.

MEN: Leehaug, a freshman from Columbus, Indiana, was instrumental in helping lead Carthage to a 116-89 victory over Wheaton. Leehaug won the 200 freestyle in 1:46.89 and the 200 butterfly in 1:59.23. His 200 butterfly time was the second fastest in school history and a new pool record in the Rattner Aquatic Center. He also swam a :49.13 split in the 400 freestyle relay, which placed second.

WOMEN: Fridline, a freshman from Burton, Michigan, broke the school record in the 200 butterfly with a second place finish of 2:17.01 in a double dual with Wheaton and Chicago.
