CCIW SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - Adam Gess of Wheaton and Jonna Koenitzer of Carthage have been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin "Swimmers of the Week" for the week ending February 9. The CCIW selects a "Swimmer of the Week" by a vote of the league coaches each week during the season.

MEN: Gess, a junior from Alexandria, Minnesota, won the 200 backstroke in a double dual meet with Illinois Wesleyan and North Central on Saturday, February 2. Gess was clocked in 1:58.00.

WOMEN: Koenitzer won three individual events and swam a leg on a winning relay in the Wisconsin Private College Championships on Saturday, February 2. She won the 1,650 freestyle in 18:27.82 which is a school and meet record, the 200 freestyle in 2:01.23 and the 500 freestyle in 5:22.53. That time in the 500 freestyle is also a meet and school record. She was also on the victorious 400 freestyle relay.
