CCIW SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - Matt Zolnierek of Carthage and Kathy Carroll of Illinois Wesleyan have been selected as the "Swimmers of the Week" in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin, it was announced today. The CCIW selects a "Swimmer of the Week" by a vote of the league coaches each week during the season.
WOMEN - Carroll won two events in a double dual meet against Wheaton and North Central on Saturday, January 27. She won the 1000 freestyle in 11:14.69 and the 500 freestyle in 5:09.57. The 500 freestyle time set a new pool record. She is a junior from Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, Illinois.
MEN - Zolnierek was the co-high point award winner at the NWisconsin Private College Championships with victories in the 100 freestyle (:49.83), 200 freestyle (1:51.22) and 500 freestyle (5:05.31). He was also on the winning 400 freestyle relay team that set a meet record. He is a freshman from Rockford High School in Belmont, Michigan.
