NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Michelle Pelka of Carthage and Drew Clinton of Augustana were named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Swimmers of the Week Tuesday after their performances during the past week of competition.
Pelka, a freshman from Elgin, Ill., and Elgin Academy, finished first and set a new school record in the 200 individual medley (2:13.40), finished first and set a new school record in the 200 butterfly (2:09.85), as well as a new school record and first place finish in
the 400 individual medley (4:39.60) at the Grinnell Invitational over the weekend. She was also first in the 100 butterfly (59.64) and also swam the fly leg on the winning 200 and 400 medley relays.
Clinton, a freshman from Brookfield, Ill., and Riverside-Brookfield High School, posted season best times in the 100 freestyle (50.98), 50 freestyle (23.67), 200 individual medley (2:16.21) and the 100 butterfly (58.86) at the Grinnell Invitational. Clinton also posted a tenth place finish in the 100 freestyle.
