Wheaton sweeps cciw swimmer of the week honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Liz Hartman and Preston Conger of Wheaton were named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) swimmers of the week Tuesday after their performances during the past week of competition.

Hartman, a freshman from Jacksonville, Fla., made the top eight at the Wheaton Invite in three events. She earned an NCAA Division III B cut in 100 Breast with a time of 1:07.1. She also had a personal best in the 200 Breast (2:27.2) and also swam the 200 IM in 2:11.1.

Conger, a freshman from Aiken, S.C., recorded personal bests in all of his races at the Wheaton Invite. In the 100 fly, he dropped a full second to 52.8. In the 200 fly, he dropped four seconds to 1:59.4. In the 100 breast, he dropped 2.6 seconds to 1:00.8. In the 50 back, he dropped 1.1 seconds to 25.1.
