Millikin sweeps cciw swimmer of the week honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Brian Stryzek and Lauren Strimbu of Millikin were named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) swimmers of the week Tuesday after their performances during the past week of competition.

Strimbu, a freshman from Bartlett, Ill., and Bartlett High School, put forth a solid effort as the Big Blue women placed second at the Monmouth Invite over the weekend. She accomlished her personal best times in the 200 Free, placing second with a time of 2:11.34, fourth in the 100 Free (1:01.45), and second in the 1650 Free (19:55.80).

Stryzek, a junior from Oak Forest, Ill., and Oak Forest High School, helped Millikin to a second place finish at Monmouth, placing second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:52.53. He also accomplished a personal best time in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.66.
