Tiltges, Nitz named cciw swimmers of the week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Jonathon Nitz of Wheaton and Lisa Tiltges of Carthage were named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) swimmers of the week Tuesday after their performances during the past week of competition.
Nitz, a sophomore from Frankfort, Ky., broke the magic minute barrier in the 100 breaststroke for the first time with a 59.91 split on the 400 Medley Relay against Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Friday, Nov. 2. Nitz dropped over a second off his previous personal best time in the event.
Tiltges, a freshman from St. Charles, Ill., and Rosary High School, won the 500 freestyle (5:27.66) and the 1,000 freestyle (11:05.46) in a 106-98 come-from-behind win against Division II Lewis University and Illinois Tech, a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Tiltges was also the top Carthage finisher in the 400 IM, finishing with a time of 5:00.60.
