Wheaton’s Verner Named CCIW Swimmer of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – James Verner of Wheaton earned College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) swimmer of the week recognition Tuesday after his performance during the previous week of competition.

Verner, a junior from Beverly Hills, Mich., swam his fastest times in three events during a meet with CCIW members North Central and Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, Jan. 27. He won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.8 and also won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.1. In the 200 IM, Verner finished with a time of 2:00.9.
