CCIW Swimmers of the Week

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – Mike Waits of Wheaton, Nathaniel Chapman of Wheaton and Jenna Sveen of Wheaton have been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin "Swimmers of the Week" for the week of January 29. The CCIW selects a "Swimmer of the Week" by a vote of the league coaches each week during the season.

MEN: Waits, a senior from Tuscon, Arizona, won the 100 freestyle in :49.66 in a double dual with Illinois Wesleyan and North Central.

Chapman, a junior from Columbus, Indiana, set three meet records in the Wisconsin Private College Championships. He won the 100 backstroke (:53.53), the 200 backstroke (1:55.50) and anchored the winning 800 freestyle relay (7:19.10) – all in record times. He also won the 200 butterfly in 2:01.85 , which was not a record.

WOMEN: Sveen, a freshman from Wheaton, Illinois, won the 100 freestyle in :56.05 in a double dual meet with Illinois Wesleyan and North Central.
