Higgins, Wischmeyer and Fournier Earn CCIW Swimmer of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – John Higgins of Wheaton, along with Sandra Wischmeyer of North Central and Jen Fournier of Carthage were named Swimmers of the Week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tuesday in voting conducted by the CCIW swimming coaches.

Higgins, a junior from Deerfield, Ill., won the 200 Free (1:44.4) and finished second in 500 Free (4:51.7), while splitting 46.8 on the winning 400 free relay against Carthage College. All were best ever un-tapered times.

Wischmeyer, a junior from Franklin Park, Ill., won two events Friday, Jan. 20 in a dual meet with Benedictine University. Wischmeyer swam a lifetime best in the 500 free (5:48.53) just minutes before coming back to win the 200 breaststroke (2:47.53). She was also a member of the winning 200 medley relay team.

Fournier, a senior from Oak Lawn, Ill., swam a lifetime best in the 500 free with a time of 5:24.38, un-tapered, during a dual meet with Wheaton and Chicago on Jan. 21. She was also .2 seconds off her lifetime best in the 100 free with a 55.38, also un-tapered.
