Vens, Voight and Yemm Earn CCIW Swimmer of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Ramsey Vens and Jordan Voight of Augustana, along with Paul Yemm of Millikin were named Swimmers of the Week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tuesday in voting conducted by the CCIW swimming coaches.

Vens, a freshman from Bettendorf, Iowa, placed 1st in the 100 and 200 back at the Grinnell Invite with times of 1:00.21 and 2:13.33 respectively. Both times were school records. Vens was also fourth in the 100 freestyle (56.14) and broke five minutes in the 400 IM, which was the first time she had ever swam the event.

Voight, also a freshman from Bettendorf, Iowa, achieved a time of 1:08 in the breast to finish ninth and topping his fastest time this season of 1:16 by eight seconds. Voight also clocked a time of 2:31.13 in the 200 breast. His fastest time in the 100 freestyle coming into the year was a 56. Voight split a 52.18 on the relay.

Yemm, a senior from Sterling, Ill., won the 1000 freestyle (10:23.08) against Eastern Illinois and also posted the fastest time in the 100 butterfly (53.60). Yemm finished second in the 500 freestyle (5:01.62) and anchored the first-place Big Blue 400 freestyle relay.
