Wheaton Sweeps Swimmer of the Week Honors
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Tyler Dobelbower and Veronica Seger of Wheaton were named Swimmers of the Week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tuesday in voting conducted by the CCIW swimming coaches.
Doberlbower, a senior from Topeka, Kan., won the 200 IM with a time of 1:51.92, the 200 Back with a time of 1:51.12, and the 100 Back with a time of 51.26 during the Wheaton Invitational over the weekend. All of the times were NCAA qualifying marks. In addition, this was the fourth year in a row that Dobelbower has won three events in NCAA time at the Wheaton Invite.
Seger, a senior from Prior Lake, Minn., advanced to the finals in the 200 Fly (2:10.02) and the 100 Fly (58.86) at the Wheaton Invite. Both times were a PR for Seger and both missed the NCAA B cut by less than a tenth of a second. Seger also led off the 400 Free Relay that achieved a time of 3:32.01 in which Seger clocked a PR time of 53.82.
