Manolov, Bryant Earn CCIW Swimmer of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Ivan Manolov of Carthage and Kara Bryant of Millikin were named Swimmers of the Week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tuesday in voting conducted by the CCIW swimming coaches.

Bryant, a senior from Chatham, Ill., won the 100 fly with a season-best time 1:02.11 at the University of Chicago Maroon Invitational. In addition, Bryant was a top eight finisher in the other two events she swam, the 400 IM and 1650.

Manolov, a junior from Plovdov, Bulgaria, recently led Carthage to a 94-81 win over Lake Forest
College. Manolov won the 200 breaststroke and nearly equaled the LFC pool record with a time of 2:31.07. He swam the breaststroke leg on the winning 400 medley relay and finished a close second to teammate Kyle Underwood in the 200 IM.
