Schmitt, Reynertson Earn CCIW Swimmer of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Mark Schmitt of North Central and Sarah Reynertson of Carthage were named Swimmers of the Week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tuesday in voting conducted by the CCIW swimming coaches.

Schmitt, a native of Naperville, won two events in a triangular with conference rivals Wheaton College and Illinois Wesleyan University. Schmitt touched first in the 200 back (1:57.95) after also easily distancing himself from the field in the 100 back. His time of 52.95 in the 100 was an in-season personal best and third fastest time in the conference this year.

During the Wisconsin Private College Championships on Jan. 28, Reynertson, a freshman from Itasca, Ill., won the 100 back with a time of 1:02.38, and the 200 back in a meet record time of 2:14.72. In addition, Reynertson swam a 24.88 leg on the winning 200 free relay and also swam on the winning 200 medley relay.

Note: The CCIW Swimming Championships will be held from Feb. 9-11 in Kenosha, Wis., on the campus of Carthage College.
