Carthage, Wheaton Send Swimmers to NCAA Championships
NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) will have Wheaton and Carthage representing the conference at the 2007 NCAA Division III Swimming Championships at the University of Houston Campus Recreational Fitness and Wellness Center.
The women’s championship is scheduled for March 8-10, while the men’s championship is scheduled for March 15-17.
The Carthage men will have Bryan Pelka, Zach Jole and Stephen Schrank competing in Houston, while Wheaton’s John Higgins will take part in the 200 IM, 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Pelka will compete in the 500 and 1650 freestyle and the 200 butterfly, while Jole will take part in the 200 IM and the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Schrank will compete in the 400 IM, as well as the 100 and 200 breaststroke.
On the women’s side, Wheaton will be the only CCIW representative as the Thunder will have representation in the 200, 400 and 800 freestyle relays, as well as the 200 and 400 medley relays. Kaitlin Marko will compete in the 500 and 1650 freestyle along with the 400 IM, while Sloan Skinner will take part in the 200 and 400 IM. Katherine Burt will compete in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle, while Ashley Matthiesen will compete in the 200 backstroke.
