Illinois Wesleyan's Fleishman Named CCIW Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Val Fleishman of Illinois Wesleyan was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after her performance during the previous week of competition.
Fleishman, a senior from Oak Brook, Ill., scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in Illinois Wesleyan’s 63-60 upset win over Wheaton on Jan. 17. She made 12 of 13 free throws, had two steals, a block and an assist. In a 71-57 win over North Park on Jan. 21, Fleishman scored 16 points with six rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block.
For the week Fleishman made .833 percent of her free throw tries (20 of 24) and averaged 16 points and nine rebounds.
