Sikora Earns CCIW Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Kelly Sikora was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Tuesday after her performance during the previous week of competition.

Sikora, a junior from Elgin, Ill., spearheaded the effort at the Clarke Holiday Tournament, averaging 22.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in the three contests. For her effort she was named to the all-tournament team. Sikora scored 18 points and pulled down five rebounds in an 84-72 loss to Concordia (Wis.) and had 18 points and four rebounds in a 70-34 win against the Illinois Institute of Technology. She saved her best for last as she scored 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 65-61 win against St. Mary’s (Ind.).

For the three-game stretch, Sikora scored 66 points and hauled in 19 rebounds. She shot .473 (26-55) from the floor, including three of nine (.333) from three point range and was a perfect 11 of 11 (1.000) from the free throw line. She had seven assists, two blocked shots and two steals and was named “Player of the Game” by tournament officials in the win against St. Mary’s.
