Furr Named CCIW Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Heather Furr of Elmhurst was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after her performance during the previous week of competition.
Furr, a senior from Plainfield, Ill., scored 65 points on the week while leading Elmhurst to three wins. On Tuesday, Furr scored a career-high 30 points on 12-of-17 shooting (5-of-5) from three-point range in the Bluejays win over Benedictine. On Thursday, she scored 11 points while grabbing nine rebounds and dished out seven assists in Elmhurst’s win over Dominican. On Saturday, she had a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds in the team’s win over Judson.
For the week, she finished with 65 points on 23-of-40 shooting (57.5 percent) while adding 22 rebounds, 15 assists and 11 steals.
