Marcum Earns CCIW Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Honors
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Nancy Marcum of Augustana was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after her performance during the previous week of competition.
Marcum, a senior center from LeRoy, Ill., was instrumental as Augustana won a pair of games last week to move to 3-2 on the season. In a 60-54 win at Wisconsin-Platteville on Wednesday, Nov. 30, Marcum scored seven points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds. She also had four blocked shots, three steals and one assist. In a 71-61 home victory over Ashford on Saturday, Dec. 3, Marcum led the team in both scoring (17) and rebounding (six) and had two blocked shots, one steal and one assist.
For the week she averaged 12.0 points and 8.5 rebounds, along with two assists, six blocked shots and four steals. She shot .615 (8-13) from the floor and .800 (8-10) from the free throw line.
