North Central’s Williams Named CCIW Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Barb Williams of North Central was named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after her performance during the previous week of competition.

Williams, a senior forward from Skokie, Ill., and Niles West High School, totaled 35 points, 22 rebounds, 11 steals and five blocks in two games last week as North Central College finished 1-1 at the Southwestern University (Texas) Invitational. Williams finished one steal short of a triple-double on December 29 in the Cardinals’ 64-49 win over Buena Vista. She had 13 points, 11 rebounds and nine steals in the win while also adding two assists and two blocks. In a 55-54 loss to Southwestern the night before, Williams scored 22 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and tallied three blocks and two steals.
