Millikin’s Ippel Named CCIW Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Lindsay Ippel from Millikin was named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after her performance during the previous week of competition.

Ippel, a senior forward from Decatur, Ill., and St. Teresa High School, scored 26 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and shot 11-of-13 (.846) from the field in Millikin’s 83-58 win over North Central on Feb. 19. Against North Central, Ippel moved into No. 8 on Millikin’s career rebounding list and broke her own single-season record for CCIW points. In Saturday’s 77-38 win over North Park, she scored 20 points and had nine rebounds while shooting 7-of-12 (.583) from the field. The 20 points at North Park extended her CCIW single-season scoring record to 371 points in 2007-08.
