Illinois Wesleyan’s Solari Named CCIW Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Christina Solari from Illinois Wesleyan was named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after her performance during the previous week of competition.

Solari, a sophomore center from Park Ridge, Ill., and Maine South High School, was instrumental in two Titan victories last week. Playing only 21 minutes, Solari was nine-of-11 from the field with 18 points and four rebounds in an 83-47 win at North Park on Jan. 25. On Feb. 2, the Titans moved into a first place tie in the CCIW with an 80-63 home win over Carthage. Solari scored nine points, pulled down 11 rebounds and handed out four assists. For the week she shot .706 from the field and averaged 13.5 points and 7.5 rebounds.
