Wheaton’s Fidelia Named CCIW Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Kathleen Fidelia of Wheaton was named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after her performance during the previous week of competition.

Fidelia, a junior guard from Arden, N.C., and Carolina Day School, helped lead Wheaton to a pair of victories at its own Lee Pfund Classic last weekend as she was named the tournament’s MVP. Fidelia averaged 21 points, eight assists, 5.5 rebounds and five steals per game. She led the Thunder with a career-high 28 points in a 63-56 win against UW-Platteville in the tournament’s championship game. She also added six assists, four steals and five rebounds. Wheaton opened the season on Friday with a 75-56 win against St. Mary’s that saw Fidelia score 14 points, with six steals, six rebounds and a career-high 10 assists.
