Millikin’s Ippel Named CCIW Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Lindsay Ippel of Millikin was named women’s basketball player of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Monday after her performance during the previous week of competition.

Ippel, a junior forward from Decatur, Ill., and St. Teresa High School, posted her fifth 30-plus point game of the year at Augustana and helped the Big Blue improve to 4-1 in the CCIW with wins over Augustana and Carthage this week. In the road win at Augustana, she scored 38 points on 14-of-15 shooting, 10-of-15 free throws, a team-high seven rebounds, a team-high five steals, one block and three assists in 39 minutes. In the win over Carthage, she led Millikin with 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting and 5-of-8 free throws, plus five rebounds, one assist, two steals and two blocks in 36 minutes.

Through games of January 14, Ippel led NCAA Division III in scoring (25.4) and field goal percentage (63.6), and her totals were higher than the NCAA Division II leaders as well.
