Wheaton’s Trenz, Carthage’s Jarger Share CCIW Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Honor

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Wheaton’s Jill Trenz and Carthage’s Katie Jarger were named co-women’s basketball players of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Monday after their performances during the previous week of competition.

Trenz, a junior center from Cincinnati, Ohio and Madeira High School, led the Thunder to a pair of CCIW victories last week as she averaged 15.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, with a 68.4 (13-for-19) field goal percentage. Trenz led the Thunder to a 53-50 win against North Park last Saturday, with a game-high 17 points on seven-for-nine shooting from the field, with 14 rebounds and two blocked shots. Wheaton earned a 60-45 win at Augustana last Wednesday as the All-American scored 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds.

Jarger, a sophomore forward from Chicago, scored a game-high 19 points on eight-for-11 shooting from the field, along with a team-leading 10 rebounds in the Lady Reds’ 67-63 win at Elmhurst on Jan. 9. She also had 14 points in Carthage’s 89-53 win over Augustana on Jan. 13.
