North Park’s Mount Named CCIW Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Laura Mount of North Park was named women’s basketball player of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Monday after her performance during the previous week of competition.

Mount, a senior from Elgin, Ill., and Lake Zurich High School, earned her second tournament MVP award of the season at the Whittier College tournament in California last week. North Park defeated UMass-Boston 60-44 on Jan. 2 and Whittier 49-41 on Jan. 3. Mount averaged 15.5 points per game and six rebounds per game in leading North Park to its fourth tournament championship this season.
