Illinois Wesleyan’s Heydorn Named CCIW Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Mallory Heydorn of Illinois Wesleyan was named women’s basketball player of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Tuesday after her performance during the previous week of competition.

Heydorn, a sophomore guard from LaGrange, Ill., and Lyons Township High School, tied a school game record with eight three-pointers in a 101-64 win at Emory on Dec. 29. She had 32 points and was 12-of-19 from the field including 8-of-14 from beyond the arc. The Titans set a school game record with 19 three-pointers in the win. Heydorn scored 13 points and pulled down nine rebounds and six assists in Illinois Wesleyan’s first loss of the year, an 81-75 defeat to Oglethorpe on Dec. 30.

For the week she was 16-of-34 from the field (.471), 10-of-22 from thee-point range (.455) and had 5.5 assists per game. She averaged 22.5 points and pulled down 5.0 rebounds in the two games.
