Millikin’s Ippel Named CCIW Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Lindsay Ippel of Millikin was named women’s basketball player of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Monday after her performance during the previous week of competition.

Ippel, a junior forward from Decatur, Ill., and St. Teresa High School, averaged 26.7 points per game in three games last week to help Millikin improve to 5-2 on the season. She also led the Big Blue with 9.7 rebounds per game and six steals, tied the team-best with four blocks and finished tied for third with five assists. On the week, Ippel shot .582 from the field (32-of-55) and 16-of-24 (.667) from the free throw line.

In a loss to McKendree she led the Big Blue with 22 points and tied the team lead with seven rebounds while also adding a team-high two steals and one block in 39 minutes. In the win over Illinois College she scored a career-high 30 points (12-of-21) with eight rebounds, two steals, two assists and a blocked shot in 40 minutes. She was also 6-of-7 from the free throw line. In the win over Fontbonne she scored 28 points with a team-high 14 rebounds with three assists, two steals and two blocked shots in 39 minutes. She shot 9-of-18 from the field and 10-of-16 from the free throw line.
