CCIW Schools take part in "think pink' program
NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Four College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) institutions were part of the "Think Pink" initiative during a pair of women's basketball games on Saturday, Jan. 27.
"Think Pink" is a program put forth by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). The WBCA encouraged its membership to take part in the program during home games the weekend of Jan. 26-28 to unify the basketball world in a show of support for all coaches in the profession who are battling breast cancer.
North Park traveled to Millikin last Saturday for a double-header match-up featuring the women's game first, followed by the men. Both teams on the men's and women's side wore Race for the Cure t-shirts provided by the Macon County chapter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Wheaton and North Central also took part in the "Think Pink" program during its game on Jan. 27. Wheaton allowed anyone wearing pink free admission to the game and also took donations at the door. North Central provided pink T-shirts for both teams as warm-ups. The Cardinal women's basketball team also made a donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
