Women’s Basketball Coaches Pick Illinois Wesleyan in CCIW Preseason Poll
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The women’s basketball coaches in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) picked Illinois Wesleyan to finish on top of the conference standings this season according to a poll released by the conference office Wednesday.
The Titans, coming off an NCAA Tournament bid in 2006-07, won the poll with 47 points including five first place votes. Millikin finished second in the poll with 42 points including three first place votes. Defending conference champion Wheaton placed third with 37 points.
Carthage was fourth in the poll with 34 points, North Central was fifth with 20 points and Elmhurst was sixth with 19 points. North Park (14) and Augustana (11) rounded out the poll.
The CCIW women’s basketball season begins November 16.

Criteria
Voting is done by the women’s basketball coaches in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin. Each coach votes for the seven other schools in the conference in order of predicted finish. Points are assigned in reverse order of voting (seven points for first, six for second, etc.). Coaches may not vote for their own team.
