2004-05 PRESEASON WOMEN'S BASKETBALL POLL
Millikin is unanimous choice to win CCIW title again
Millikin won the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin women’s basketball title in 2003-04 with a 12-2 record, finishing one game ahead of second place Wheaton. The Big Blue is the favorite to repeat in 2004-05 according to a preseason vote of league coaches. Millikin was a unanimous pick after its 22-6 overall campaign last year, drawing 49 out of 49 points and seven first place votes. Wheaton, which was 21-7 a year ago and 11-3 in the league, nailed down the runner-up position with 42 points and one first place vote.
There was a heated battle for spots three through seven with North Park and Carthage finishing in a tie for third with 28 points each. North Central took fifth with 26 points and Illinois Wesleyan was sixth with 24 while Augustana was seventh with 20. Elmhurst was chosen eighth with seven points.
The CCIW coaches all voted in this poll and they were not allowed to vote for their own teams.
