Carthage’s Djurickovic Named CCIW Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Steve Djurickovic of Carthage was named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after his performance during the previous week of competition.

Djurickovic, a freshman guard from Pleasant Prairie, Wis., and Bradford High School, scored 14 of his game-high 30 points in the final five minutes and 14 seconds as the Red Men upset defending conference champion and ninth-ranked Augustana, 74-68, on Jan. 19, giving Carthage sole possession of first place in the CCIW. He also pulled down 10 rebounds against the Vikings. Earlier in the week, Djurickovic had 13 points with six assists in an 84-44 drubbing of the Illinois Institute of Technology on Jan. 14, and a game-high 19 points with eight assists in a 79-68 win at No. 12 Elmhurst on Jan. 16.
