Millikin’s Ogunleye Named CCIW Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Tunde Ogunleye of Millikin was named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after his performance during the previous week of competition.
Ogunleye, a junior transfer from New Rochelle, N.Y., and Keystone College, led Millikin to a 2-1 record last week with a third place finish at the McDonalds of Bluffton (Ohio) Holiday Tournament. In three games, Ogunleye averaged 19.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, both team highs. He also added a total of eight assists, seven steals and two blocks in 30.3 minutes per game while shooting .513 from the field (20-of-39). In a 110-104 overtime win over Anderson (Ind.) on December 20, he had a career-high 38 points (13-of-20 shooting from the field) and a team-high and career-high 14 rebounds with four assists and two steals in 36 minutes. In an 85-76 loss to Bluffton on December 28, he scored 18 points with three rebounds, three steals, two assists and one block in 30 minutes. In Millikin’s 81-64 win over Concordia (Mich.) on December 29, he finished with four rebounds, two points, two assists, two steals and a block in 25 minutes.
