Elmhurst’s Ruch Named CCIW Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Brent Ruch of Elmhurst was named College Conference of Illinois
& Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after his performance during the previous week of competition.
Ruch, a junior center from Farmer City, Ill., and Blue Ridge High School, helped guide the Bluejays to a 2-0 record last week while averaging a double-double. On Tuesday, Ruch scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds in Elmhurst’s 74-51 win over MacMurray. Ruch shot nine-of-12 from the floor and also finished with five assists, two steals and a block. On Saturday, Ruch scored 16 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds in the Bluejays’ 64-51 win over Eureka. He was a perfect six-of-six from the floor in the game. For the week, he averaged 19.5 points and 11.5 rebounds while shooting 83.3 percent (15-of-18) from the floor and 100 percent (eight-of-eight) from the foul line. Through three games this season, Ruch is averaging 19.3 points and 10.7 rebounds while shooting 79.3 percent from the floor.
