Elmhurst’s Ruch Named CCIW Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Brent Ruch of Elmhurst was named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after his performance during the previous week of competition.

Ruch, a junior center from Farmer City, Ill., and Blue Ridge High School, helped lead the Bluejays to a pair of CCIW wins last week. He scored 17 points in Elmhurst’s 81-79 win at Carthage Wednesday night. Ruch shot five-of-eigth from the floor and was a perfect seven-of-seven from the free throw line. On Saturday, Ruch recorded a double-double in the Bluejays’ 58-54 win over North Park. He scored 15 points on five-of-nine shooting from the field and pulled down 14 rebounds in the victory.
