Millikin’s Gensler Earns CCIW Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Honor

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Millikin’s Drew Gensler was named men’s basketball player of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Monday after his performance during the previous week of competition.

Gensler, a sophomore guard from Mt. Zion, Ill., and Mt. Zion High School, played a big part in Millikin’s win on the road at Illinois Wesleyan last week. He scored 23 points, grabbed three rebounds and had five assists in 37 minutes against the Titans. In a loss to North Central three days later, he posted 24 points with one rebound, one assist and one steal in 34 minutes. Gensler led Millikin in scoring in both games and finished the week with 47 points on 17 of 29 shooting from the field, two-of-eight from three-point land and 11-of-14 from the free throw line.
