Elmhurst’s Lee Earns CCIW Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Honors
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Elmhurst’s Brian Lee was named men’s basketball player of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Monday after his performance during the previous week of competition.
Lee, a senior from Orland Park, Ill., and Sandburg High School, made the most of his one game last week, scoring a career-high 24 points while leading Elmhurst to an 82-71 win over 12th ranked Augustana. The win was the Bluejays’ 11th consecutive of the season (one shy of the school record 12 wins). Lee finished 9-of-12 from the floor (75 percent) and 5-of-7 from the foul line. In addition, Lee dished out a team-high six assists and recorded two steals and four rebounds. The Bluejays’ starting point guard committed only one turnover, while as a team, Elmhurst turned the ball over only six times (a season low).
