Illinois Wesleyan’s Andrew Freeman Named CCIW Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Andrew Freeman of Illinois Wesleyan was named the player of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Monday after his performance during the previous week of competition.

Freeman, a senior forward from Bloomington, Ill., averaged 17 points and 8.5 rebounds as IWU got two victories to take the title of the UW-Whitewater Tournament. Freeman, who was named to the all-tournament team, scored 18 points and got 10 rebounds as the Titans rallied from a 21-point deficit early in the second half to earn a 69-68 win over the No. 4-ranked hosts UW-Whitewater.

The night before Freeman had 16 points and seven rebounds as the Titans beat Clarke, 86-59 in Titans’ head coach Ron Rose’s debut.
