Amelianovich of Illinois Wesleyan Earns CCIW Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Honors
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Keelan Amelianovich of Illinois Wesleyan was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after his performance during the previous week of competition.
Amelianovich, a senior from Naperville, averaged 22 points in leading Illinois Wesleyan to two conference wins. In an overtime win over Wheaton, Amelianovich scored 27 points and had five in the overtime. He was 10-for-19 from the field with four three-point field goals. In just 25 minutes against North Park, Amelianovich scored 17 points and handed out two assists while going 6-for-10 from the floor with three three-pointers.
For the week he was 16 of 29 (.552) from the field and shot .438 from three-point land (7 of 16). He also made all five of his free throw tries.
