Elmhurst's Michael Named CCIW Men's Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Nick Michael of Elmhurst was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after his performance during the previous week of competition.

Michael, a junior from West Chicago, Ill., led Elmhurst to a pair of CCIW wins last week. Michael scored 16 points and pulled down five rebounds in the Bluejays’ 78-73 win over Carthage on Wednesday, Jan. 11. On Saturday, Michael poured in a team-high 21 points while also totaling six rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in the Bluejays’ 72-64 win over No. 5 ranked Illinois Wesleyan.

For the week, Michael finished with 37 points on 12-of-19 shooting from the floor (.632 percent). He also shot 13-of-15 (.867) from the free throw line.
