Long Takes Home CCIW Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Korte Long of Millikin was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after his performance during the previous week of competition.

Long, a junior forward from Decatur, Ill., led Millikin, averaging 21.5 points per game and nine rebounds per game. On the week, Long scored 43 points, pulled down 18 rebounds, had five steals and a .568 field goal percentage (21-37). He also added three blocks and two assists as Millikin went 1-1.

In the win over Illinois College, Long shot .571 from the field (12-21) with team-highs of nine rebounds, 24 points, three steals and tied for the team lead with two blocks in 34 minutes. In the loss at Franklin, he shot .563 from the field (9-16) with team-highs of 19 points and nine rebounds to go with a block, an assist and two steals in 30 minutes.
