Berg, Harrigan Share CCIW Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Bjorn Berg of North Park and Rick Harrigan of Augustana were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Co-Men’s Basketball Players of the Week Monday after their performances during the previous week of competition.

Berg, a senior guard from Minneapolis, Minn., scored a career-high 22 points on Tuesday, Nov. 29, including the game-winning three-pointer, which gave North Park a 76-75 win over Judson. Berg then went on to set a new career-high with 28 points on Thursday, Dec. 1, in a 81-80 win over Concordia (Wis.), making 4-5 free throws in the last 30 seconds.

In two Augustana victories last week, Harrigan, a senior guard from Chicago, averaged 27.5 points as the 25th ranked (D3hoops.com) Vikings moved to 4-0 on the season. He dropped in 24 points and grabbed five rebounds with three steals in a 69-56 win over St. Ambrose on Wednesday, Nov. 30, and then followed that performance with a season-high 31 points with four steals and two rebounds in an 83-74 win over Simpson on Saturday, Dec. 3.

In the two games last week, Harrigan scored 55 points, going 19 of 31 (.613) from the floor, including three of four (.750) from three point range. He also knocked down 14 of 16 (.875) free throws, had seven rebounds, seven steals and one assist.
