Martin Earns CCIW Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Chris Martin of Elmhurst was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after his performance during the previous week of competition.

Martin, a senior from Eureka, Ill., scored 60 points while leading the Bluejays to a pair of victories. On Tuesday, he scored a game-high 20 points in 23 minutes in the Bluejays’ 87-56 win over St. Norbert College. On Saturday, he scored a career-high 40 points in Elmhursts’s 87-75 win over Simpson College.

For the week, Martin shot 76.7 percent from the floor (23-of-30). In addition, he also pulled down 13 rebounds while adding six assists, six steals and two blocks.
