Wheaton's Kemper Named CCIW Men's Basketball Player of the Week
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Jordan Kemper of Wheaton was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after his performance during the previous week of competition.
Kemper, a senior from Rockford, Ill., helped lead his team to upset wins against two top-ten ranked teams during the past week. Kemper averaged 16.5 points on 85.7 percent (12-14) shooting from the field, including 83.3 percent (5-6) from three-point range and 80 percent (4-5) at the free throw line.
On Wednesday Wheaton upset No. 3 ranked Augustana 64-60 as Kemper grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds and added eight points on 4-for-4 shooting from the field. On Saturday night the Thunder earned a 69-66 win against No. 7 Illinois Wesleyan. The Thunder co-captain led all scorers with 25 points on 8-for-10 shooting from the field, including 5-for-6 from three-point range. Kemper also grabbed eight rebounds.
