Illinois Wesleyan's Dauksas Named CCIW Men's Basketball Player of the Week
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Adam Dauksas of Ill. Wesleyan was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday after his performance during the previous week of competition.
Dauksas, a senior from Flossmoor, Ill., averaged 21.5 points and 6.5 assists in two Illinois Wesleyan conference wins last week against teams that had earlier handed the Titans losses. In a 91-88 win at North Central on Feb. 1, Dauksas had 14 points and seven assists with one steal. In an 88-87 overtime win over Elmhurst on Feb. 4, Dauksas scored 29 points and hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime. His assist with two seconds left in the overtime gave Chris Jones the ball for the winning basket.
Dauksas finished with six assists, made 10 of 16 from the field, 5-of-9 from three-point land, and hit four of five free throws. For the week he shot .533 from the field, .538 from beyond the arc, and had a 6.5 assist/turnover ratio.
