CCIW Men's basketball second in ncaa division iii attendance in 2006-07

NAPERVILLE, Ill.-- The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) was second in attendance at men's basketball games during the 2006-07 season.

The CCIW finished second to the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) amongst NCAA Division III conferences, averaging 804 fans for a total of 74,765. The MIAA averaged 1,100 fans for a total of 88,039 in 2006-07.

Illinois Wesleyan led the way in fan attendance among the eight members of the CCIW. The Titans averaged 1,700 fans at the Shirk Center in 2006-07 for a total of 18,700. North Park finished 12th nationally, while Wheaton was 26th.

This is the second consecutive season that the CCIW has finished second nationally in attendance. As a conference, the CCIW finished third in men's basketball attendance during the 2003-04 and 2004-05 season, as well as second in 2002-03.
