Penn Atlantic to Stream The CCIW Men’s Basketball Tournament
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin, in conjunction with Penn Atlantic, will stream the inaugural CCIW Men’s Basketball Tournament, hosted by Augustana Feb. 24-25.
The games, which will be aired with full audio and video, will be streamed free of charge through the CCIW website at www.cciw.org. The audio team will include Bob Quillman and Jim Williams of WJBC Radio in Bloomington, Ill.
The tournament opens with the semifinals on Friday, Feb. 24 with No. 3 Elmhurst facing No. 2 North Central at 6 p.m., while No. 4 Illinois Wesleyan plays No. 1 Augustana at 8 p.m. The championship will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25.
“This is another exciting opportunity for the conference,” CCIW commissioner Chris Martin said. “We were fortunate to have Penn Atlantic stream two games earlier this season and we look forward to having them on board again to showcase our men’s basketball tournament, the first ever in the 60-year history of the conference.”
Penn Atlantic streamed the Wheaton/Millikin women’s game on Jan. 24, and the Augustana/Illinois Wesleyan men’s basketball game on Jan. 25. The men’s game had well over 100 people online the minute after the video was made available, and by the half, there were 328 concurrent streams. The numbers continued to rise throughout halftime and by the start of play in the second half there were 375 persons concurrent. The game topped out with 586 concurrent viewers.
